Can i really invest for only 100 USD?

Can I really invest for only 100 USD?

Yes you can.

Most people new to investing often have the question about having enough money to start investing. Can i really start with only 100 USD or even only 50 USD?

My answer is a huge YES! Remember that every dollar count, and you are totally cool because you have decided to start investing! A small step is still a step, and you will as an investor grow in a pace fitting your own pace, which in return make you feel better.

How can I start with only 100 USD?

SIt is relatively easily getting started investing in 2021 and beyond because of so many platforms making it incredibly easy.

You have probably heard that investing is also associated with a lot of fees. However, this is mostly the case if you are investing through your bank. If you sign up with a broker like eToro you are not paying any commission or other fees.

Therefore, i highly suggest signing up on eToro. It only takes a few minutes if you have your ID and a credit card ready. You can sign up using my link below (Sometimes they give you up to 50 USD to trade for when you deposit money to their platform):

What to invest my 100 USD in?

The good news is the selection is totally up to you. If you want to invest your money in a stock or a ETF with 100 USD.

Due to the concept of fractional shares you do not need to have the total dollar amount a stock like Tesla or Amazon cost (a whooping 3380 USD for Amazon). Fractional shares enable you to buy a fraction of Amazon stock with a low a 50 USD.

Personally i’m into simple investing for a long period, and my main wealth building assets is broad market ETF such as VTI, DGRO and SCHD. The reason for me to select VTI or DGRO is their very low expensive ratio of only 0.03% and 0.08% respectively. As of writing this article VTI have a 1 year return of 33% and DGRO 28%. VTI hold nearly 4000 companies in the ETF and DGRO hold 392 companies, therefore you are extremely diversified by just selecting a fund like VTI.

I’m aware it is not as exciting as holding a stock like Tesla directly, but with VTI a small part of the 4000 companies include Tesla. Therefore, if Tesla goes up it will impact VTI, but again if Tesla goes down the impact of that might be lesser due to the 4000 other companies.

I’m holding VTI, DGRO and SCHD in my portfolio, which you can see on this link: https://www.etoro.com/people/simonapedersen

On eToro you are able to copy other investors, if you simply want to put your investments on auto pilot. You can freely copy all my holdings, or find other investors to copy. Naturally you can invest on your own without copying.
