As I’m following a few forums, I see several new investors being terrified when the market falls, and they ask what they should do in the current market situation.
The markets around the globe are falling and technology heavy indexes like Nasdaq bleed more than 10% (writing on 26 Jan Nasdaq is down over 14.5%) . It is not really news to anyone, because major news providers scream doomsday.
What should you do when the market fall? – Likely Nothing :O
My strategy remain the same buy and hold. As a long term investor I view it as a opportunity to buy more, which I hope you would too.
Therefore, I will be adding funds to my account to buy up more on the broad based ETFs.
Best advice I can give you is: Do not sell unless the fundamentals for your investment changed.
My portfolio is highly diversified and therefore do not experience same drops so far only 4% drop, which I’m very optimistic and positive will recover from sooner or later.
